Ian and Julian had been making music together for years until deciding to become a
duo in 2017, bearing the name Black V Neck since then. The name carries the ironic
notion that artists have to “fit in” to certain subgenres and gimmicks, a concept that
they reject through their novel and inventive take on house music.
