Progressive house is a style of music that began to develop in the early 1990's in the UK. Unlike other genres of dance music that rely heavily on big dramatic buildups and breakdowns, progressive house is noted for its long, slow buildups and complex layering of sounds and melodies that slowly progress throughout the tracks, which are sometimes over 10 minutes each in length.
