Many people misunderstand & misapply the word Apocalypse to mean destruction, as referring to an End Time scenario, or to the end of the world in general.

APOCALYPSE - from "Old English, via Old French and ecclesiastical Latin from Greek apokalupsis, from apokaluptein 'uncover, reveal', from apo- 'un-' + kaluptein 'to cover' " (Oxford Dictionary) - hence Apoclypse means to uncover, it is a revealing or a revelation of something hidden.
The Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, the last book of the New Testament, used to be called the Apocalypse, which derived from the Greek Apokalupsis, thus signifying "Revelation".
The book of Revelation then; is a revealing truth from God, of events & things that will take place in the last days. A revealing of events & things which are done in secret, being generally hidden from society because they are done by the spiritual forces & powers of darkness that are in this world(Earth), through the human agents & agencies which serve them.
