Color is the piano

Hello, wonderful subscribers! Sorry for not posting any recordings since last Thursday. Recent circumstances are making my work on this channel more difficult - it's a tough time for everyone - and I'm writing to ask for your advice on how to proceed.

It hasn't been easy setting up and maintaining this channel. I opened it to help musicians or anyone who wants to learn music, not for profit or my own benefit (I have no Youtube profits at this stage). I have many requests for pieces that I've never played before, and recording is not an easy job: I have to practice, record, and then do editing. I would like to play every piece musically with my interpretation, but instead I've tried to play strictly with less expression. Because everyone has different ideas and my recordings are not for use in final concert performance, I'm offering here the first steps in learning music. Because of this weird virus situation, some are going further and using my recordings for tests, competitions, or virtual recitals. But of course it would be counterproductive to insist that folks not do that; indeed, I'm happy to see these recordings become even more useful in this difficult situation.

Especially tough have been the negative comments from folks who give ultimatums, complain about quality, and generally seem to take the channel for granted. Maybe it's human nature for me to take the negative comments to heart just as strongly as the positive ones, and I am grateful to those of you who have been helpful and encouraging. But I'd like to ask your help as I try to decide: should I set up some kind of donation link, or disable the comments? But of course, I would like to communicate with you. Is there some other way of making this channel more healthy and helpful for both you and me?

Thank you.
