Dear wonderful subscribers! I hope you're all doing well! One of my friends taught me how to change video playback speed. Each video has a Settings icon (the wheel cog thing) and if you click it you can change the video speed. If you change the speed, the quality of sound isn't as good as at the normal speed. I want to take a quick poll about this issue. As you can see in my channel, I've given several different tempos for each piece. Do you think I should keep doing this, or is this now a waste of my time after you know how to change the speed? Please help me to figure this out. Thank you so much!

@Misakininbo

I think it's helpful to have different tempos to practice pieces. I take Mozart's clarinet concerto as an example. I started using your slower one (114 bpm or something) to train the virtuoso passages then jumped to the 124 bpm before rehearsing with the pianist for an audition. I studied the accompaniment very conscious in this way that, when I had to rehearse with the pianist we didn't waste time and our performance together improved a lot so, thanks for this wonderful resource you're giving to us.

Thank you so much for these wonderful recordings! If I download these as sound files I can play via a Speed Changer App (or Anytune App for Macs) at different speeds. I personally don't think you need to do different speed versions - you have enough on your plate doing all this repertoire! Thanks again!

Hello, my professor wants me to use your recordings and play with them for my jury this semester since we have moved to online classes. I am currently working on Burton Sonatina and the second Movement is just a little too fast for me in the sixteenth note section. I was wondering if maybe you could record that movement at a slower tempo? I tried using the video speed method and youre right, it disrupts the sound quality and is too slow for what I need!

How do you change the tempo so specifically? I think there is the option to change from normal speed to 1.25x, .75x, etc. but sometimes those are too far off.

Of course, recording at different tempos is great for sound quality. But I think, that not every piece should be recorded on this way — maybe it’s better to record in different tempos only the most popular clarinet works like Mozart Concerto or Brahms Sonatas
