I feel like this man is seeking to grow and adapt the system in an attempt to conserve it. It's like he's treating the idea of conservatism like land management and nature conservation, as opposed to taking Medusa's gaze to the forest. Like "yeah you've conserved it but my god what have you done in the process?" I consider myself pretty hardcore lefty or whatever, so I'm pretty fundamentally opposed to the systems he's conserving, but like I'm so happy to be opposed with this man? Like yeah we disagree but hey he's actually trying to sell me on this system and prove that it can work? Bro if that's the opposition, this could almost feel like a good honest political conversation about what's best for people again. Edit: was thinking about this more and just wanted to clarify that whereas I'm fundamentally opposed to the bigger systems in question, I'm not gonna claim I have anything to say about what's best for Nebraska specifically, I can leave that to the locals just out of respect, I'm not that crazy lol.
