The truth about regenerative braking: https://youtu.be/Pd8CU6qlRY8

@MattPSU02

On the Chevy Bolt, if you drive around in one pedal mode too often, the brake calipers can eventually seize. The regenerative braking is so effective in normal driving that it's possible to go weeks without even activating the brakes. Then the caliper can eventually get stuck in place.

!!!Personal Opinion Alert!!! I love my V8 truck. But I also love the Toyota Sienna Hybrid we just bought. The regenerative braking is awesome. I feel like it is the best of both worlds for a short-term band-aid until we have a better solution for long range driving on electricity. I can get 600+ miles per tank of gas, and it only takes a few minutes to fill up. Compare that to the 250 mile MAX of any EV i know of, and it's a no brainer. EPA estimated 36mpg on city or highway driving. In my situation, i beat that. 39.5 mpg of straight highway driving. Yeah, you're not driving 70-75mph, big whoop. In the city, driving to work on city streets and highway, no matter the time of day, I'm getting near 50mpg... IN A VAN...

@TheMrSauers

So what I wonder is why we can’t have the car powering itself continually? I know the answer is money but it seems feasible to have perpetual power generation once initially charged. Also making the motors a generator so when decelerating they charge the batteries.

Scotty! I have a 06 volvo xc70 240,000 miles. Never missed a oil change. We hade the oil changed before we left on a trip by are local shop. With in 1 hour of driving it threw a rod. It Was not knocking or anything before we took it in. My question is. If thay failed to change the oil filter or forgot to would that have had any affect on the oil pressure to the rod bearings?

Hey Scotty I'm a huge fan of yours and I have seen all your videos. I see them every day and night. I'm from India and I recently got a 2014 mazda 3 hatchback with the ieloop regenerative braking and the battery is not working no more. Dealership says it's going to cost around 800$ so do you suggest me to do it or just leave it like that. It has 110k miles and no check lights or anything. It's a mazda 3 s grand touring. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Scotty ! Where is a good place to get a drip rail for a old ford pickup (79) ??? To make one I would need a brake and shirnker & streacher Junk yard parts maybe ?

@lionellynch6775

Scotty, this is definitely not about brakes. I have a 1987 Nissan 300 ZX . I'm unsure why the engine loses power while driving, it's like it runs on 5 cylinders then it clears up and runs smooth and the cycle start over. I've changed everything besides the engine and computer. What could be the issue? Someone said after market distributor caps are not good for this car in which I do have one on the car. What is your opinion?
