This is normally presented with at least one of the times being just a few minutes before midnight, e.g. 11:55pm, so as to confuse people who don't understand that "close to" is a scalar quantity not a vector quantity. As you've written it, you've removed a lot of the source of argument that was present in the original clickbait version.
