When you hear ‘indigenous tribes’, what do you think of? The Native American tribes perhaps? Or maybe the Sentinelese on the Andaman Islands?

Well today I’m meeting the indigenous tribe inhabiting the region of Sapmi, which today encompasses large northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and parts of Russia.

The Sami people are descendants of nomadic people who had inhabited northern Scandinavia for thousands of years.

Sami herders migrate with their reindeer during the seasons, heading to the mountains for winter and coming back together with the community in the summer.

On today’s video I meet some of the Sami tribe, feed their reindeer and try some traditional Sami food.
