I had a dream last night of the Holocaust survivors I grew up with. One in particular stood out. He was a cobbler. His son Jerry was my friend. Jerry's dad arm had been severed off by the Nazis. His dad always had a smile and worked into the night to repair the neighbors shoes. I would watch him for hours so amazed by his patience, speed and skill. HE WAS A PROUD AMERICAN by that time. Numerous kids I grew up with who had similar stories. GOD BLESS ALL THAT COME TO MY MIND, now as an old, frail, alone ๐ต I hold them in ๐. ๐๐บ๐ธ๐๐บ๐ธ๐๐บ๐ธ๐๐บ

Reflections of Life
THE SHOE SHOP
Hello everyone! We hope that the month of May has been a great one so far. It's the last weekend of the month, which means that it's time for a new release in our Something Beautiful for the World film series.
This month sees another story from our friend in Sweden, Mattias ofย โช@campfire-storiesโฌ, with this film called The Shoe Shop.
Anna Bjรถrkman and Dougald Hine had been hosting online workshops for years, centering around the idea of regrowing a living culture. When they were looking for a physical place for their gatherings, they fell in love with an old shoe shop. We've linked the film below.
If you missed any the four previous films in this series, you can see them here:
