Scientists have developed a miniature device used to scan extraterrestrial samples for signs of life. The device can fit in a person’s hand and weighs only 17 pounds. It will scan samples using a technique known as laser desorption mass spectrometry (LDMS). Stay tuned on our channel for more coverage on extraterrestrial life, and in the meantime, learn more about what it would look like if we heard from aliens here. https://youtu.be/PswBhfUnwr0

NASA's Webb telescope captured NGC 346, a star-forming region in a galaxy not so far far away from our Milky Way. The cluster's conditions are similar to "cosmic noon," the era of rapid star formation when galaxies were forming after the Big Bang.

NASA has revealed plans for its next multi-billion dollar space telescope. Called the Habitable Worlds Observatory, the telescope will look for signs of life on planets beyond our own. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s report suggested a 6-meter telescope that would take in light at optical, ultraviolet, and near-infrared wavelengths. The telescope could be operational in the early 2040s. Until then, learn more about the largest optical telescope in space, the James Webb Space Telescope, here. youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6...
