The Veil premiered on the BBC Radio 6Music Breakfast Show on 8 September, 2016. The track was released the next day and this video, directed by Kurt Mattila, premiered on NPR on 14 September.

“As we become so visible in the digital world and leave an endless trail of data behind us, exactly who has our data and what they do with it becomes increasingly important.

Snowden’s revelations shocked the world and made it very clear why we need to have some way to look over those who look over us. With increasing terrorist attacks, security is critical, but not without any accountability or oversight.

I was very happy to learn Oliver Stone had decided to make a film about Edward Snowden and believe this is a powerful and inspiring film." - pg

Originally released in August 1994, the Secret World Live concert film is 30 years old this year.
The show was filmed at the Palasport, Modena in northern Italy on 16 and 17 November 1993. Peter has always loved playing live in Italy and the choice of venue was deliberate; “The band runs on fuel provided by the audience, and in Italy it flows freely.”

Very upset to learn of Richard Macphail‘s death last night.

We had sixty years of history together, from when we were at school, and he was the cool singer in the band called the Anon, to when I spoke to him last week after he had had a nasty fall.

Rich was the person who time after time bailed us out of difficult situations. When we couldn’t afford a rehearsal space he persuaded his parents to let us have their family’s country cottage in Abinger Hammer for a year and when we couldn’t afford a van he persuaded his father to let us have an old Hovis bread van that we drove around the country.

When some of the band were having doubts about our future he would inspire all of us and convince us to carry on. He went from friend and champion to become Genesis’s tour manager and then my own tour manager when I started working again. His determination, good humour and enthusiasm got us all through so many difficult moments.

Richard, I can’t believe you are no longer here. Ours wasn’t always an easy relationship but it was built on love, respect and shared experience and there’s now a huge hole in my life.

Going to miss you Rich.

Peter recorded a Guitar Centre Session in May 2010, whilst in LA to play a New Blood Orchestra show at the Hollywood Bowl. He performed two songs - Here Comes the Flood and Father, Son - and was interviewed by Jason Bentley. The session was broadcast on Direct TV on 21 August that same year.
Scratch My Back - the album he was promoting at the time - is a celebration of the art of song-writing. 'I've learnt a lot by doing other people's songs,' he says...

‘I wrote a song for my dad a number of years back, which I was actually able to play him, which was ‘Father, Son’. When my mum died, I wanted to do something for her, but it's taken a while before I felt comfortable and distant enough to be able to write something.'

I am passionate about the potential of ‘energy therapies‘ that are proper evidence-based treatments using sound light and electromagnetism.
Most advanced of these are Focused Ultrasound treatments now being used with over 73 diseases.
I was introduced to an amazing brain surgeon called Neal Kassell, who has made pioneering focused ultrasound his life’s work since he retired from surgery. He showed me so many breakthrough treatments now emerging.
Please check it out and encourage your local hospital to get on board.

Biko was released as a single in August 1980, making it the third single from Peter’s third solo album. For the release the song re-recorded and re-mixed at Crescent Studios, Bath.
"The process began with a rhythm which was programmed onto the world’s first drum machine which was, for electronic enthusiasts, called PAiA. Then I wanted to keep something super simple so that the focus would be on the words. The scream at the beginning, which was from the remarkable David Ferguson (David Rhodes’ former bandmate in Random Hold), set up the mood beautifully followed by David’s crashing guitar chords. I was also wanting to create a chant at the end that might be uplifting and rousing and be useful for the anti-apartheid campaign."
@SonglinesMag asked Peter why the song was chosen as a single, for their recent article on the song, "I don’t remember,” he replied, "but I suspect we wanted it as a stand-alone item that lived in its own world.”
