A blast from the past! Do you remember when we taught ‪@kanyewest‬ to whistle at the Way Out West festival in Sweden in 2007? Really dim memories from this event, but obviously it's caught on film! So guess it must have happened 😂

The artwork for the 'Endless Play' EP and the album 'Endless Dream' was inspired by a painting by the Swedish artist Dick Bengtsson called 'Bergsvandrare' ('Mountain hikers') from 1974, where you see three young children on their way towards a mountain top. Their backpacks are packed with three different kinds of paintings from three different time periods. It is sort of a deranged meta-artwork and in a way, that is also how we work together as a band. Every member has their own backpack filled with influences and preferences but every time we meet up, the nature of the band always shines thru.

The artwork was made by Graham Samuels.

⛰ This is the third and last song from our EP 'Endless Play'.

"This song/bagatelle is about eros, emotional schizophrenia, the ambiguous feeling of desire, the fear of falling for someone, and the art of self-control.

Wanted the music to have the same ambiguous and perplexing feeling as the lyrics so when we were recording it, we played the song over and over again, and every time we started from the top, we all changed instruments.

So on this song, you can hear Peter, Bjorn and me play guitar, bass and drums, on the same song and for the first time. (My personal favorite spot is the third and fourth verse when Peter plays the drums. (It sounds like Ringo Starr!)"

Three mountain peaks at the end of an expedition.
Three black dots at the end of a sentence.
Three songs at the end of an endless stream.

We are super excited to release ENDLESS PLAY, our new EP, which also marks the end of three years of constant music-making, where each of us has been writing songs from our own soft spots (or sore points / tender buttons). Hope you like it! ⛰ Listen here: peterbjornandjohn.ffm.to/endlessplay
From the album 'Darker Days' (2018) via the previous EP 'EPBJ' (2019) and to the recent album 'Endless Dream' (2020) we have been making music from the Swedish darkness to the burning present in a sort of DIY-flow. Notes upon notes, words follow words, but all the small pieces are parts of the whole and when you zoom out, you can see and hear that everything is connected.

Enjoy!

🎉 Another brand new song from the upcoming 'Endless Play' EP is out now! Hope you like it! 😊

Bjorn about the song: "This chord progression is something that we've been messing around with for years. Trying different melodies and approaches. It even had a bit of Beethoven's 'Für Elise' mixed with Twisted Sister in there for a while. But at last, we found a melody that clicked and made into a little acoustic twelve-string gem. Btw - don't miss John's snare drum singing. A real rare spooky vibe :)"

New single... and a new EP! We close out our 20th year together with the release of the 'Endless Play' EP on December 11th. The three-song EP also marks the end of three years of constant music-making, where each of us has been writing songs from our own soft spots (or sore points / tender buttons). Today we are releasing the first single 'Season of Defiance': peterbjornandjohn.ffm.to/seasonofdefiance
'Season of Defiance' was written by Peter, who shared:

As quite a few of my PBJ-songs started in a different time-signature as a fingerpicked acoustic thing that we sped & jingle-jangled up in the grand tradition of The Byrds popifying folk. Like a lot of material from the Endless Dream album, the final version is 90% based on a live take of the 3-piece and beautiful things happening between us in the spur of the moment. John added some percussive elements and I added a couple of different acoustic guitars for chiming textures as well as some choirboy-baroque-harmonies. The song is supposed to sound like a fresh spring new morning, still a bit chilly but with warmth coming on, and I think it does. Light but with weight if that makes sense. Lyrically it has the same ethos as the rest of my contributions to Endless Dream. It takes notice of all the darkness and shit around us (the "darker days" if you will) but are determined to look forward with a positive outlook and a glimmer of hope. Granted even harder to do now than when I wrote it but nevertheless. We sure do need to stay defiant these days and not be scared into silence and submission. So it's a very gentle call to arms I suppose, in a couple of coupled together sentences that you can read a lot into if you like… or not. – Peter

Dear PBJ-people and supporters!
It is with utter disappointment and sadness that we are forced to announce that the North American tour-dates supporting #endlessdream have been cancelled, due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty surrounding the virus.

The #endlessdreamtour has so far been but a dream and continues to be so for the time being. We hope, of course, to return as soon as it is safe to play shows again. In the meantime, refunds should start to process soon. If you have any questions, please contact your point of purchase.

We firmly believe "Endless Dream" is one of our strongest albums yet, and also ideally suited to the stage, so we can't wait to get out there and bring those new songs to life. If you want to support the band until we can, purchase the beautiful vinyl-album or other merch-items.

All our best and talk soon!!
