Slava Tolstoy is a Boston based guitarist, singer and producer. He came to USA in 1999 where he founded International String Trio and Valinor Quartet (Gypsy Jazz / World / Classical); they toured all over the USA gaining significant national recognition.
In 2021 Slava released an album “Songs about the Sea” - melodic pop-rock with hints of jazz and world music, virtuoso soloing and meaningful lyrics.
When Russia’s war on Ukraine began, Slava took a firm position against the invasion. He participated in numerous pro-Ukrainian fundraisers and concerts all over USA, in Germany and Canada. In the fall of 2022 he released an anti-war song “You’re Out” that gained significant recognition across the globe.
Over the course of his career Slava has worked and collaborated with such outstanding and diverse performers as Lynn Harrell, Fedor Chistyakov ( “Nol”), Kenny Aronoff, Eric Marienthal, Ruslan Sirota, Vadim Neselovskyi, Olli Soilkkeli, Ben Powell, Boris Pelekh ( “Gogol Bordello”), etc.
