Hi! I'm Marissa the Xplorer, a foreigner living in Istanbul, Turkey. I was born and raised in a small city in Northern Ontario, Canada so you might be thinking to yourself, why Turkey? The main reason was back in 2016 after completing my first epic backpacking trip through Europe, I knew i wanted to live in the area. The goal was to travel often but not knowing how to make it financially sustainable. With the help of Google, I found a teaching job in Turkey which offered me the financial freedom to afford weekend trips abroad while living centrally. My motto was to live centrally and to travel often! On this channel I will share my travel experiences and stories from across more than thirty countries as mainly a solo female backpacker.
