I may not be Miss Pohl to a class of 4 and 5 year olds anymore but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a classroom… My school is much bigger now! I may not do assembly’s anymore but last week I had the opportunity to go up on stage in front of an overflowing audience of people at Naidex last week. This was my first ‘assembly’ in over six years and I am so proud of myself for doing it! Although we definitely need to begin the next one with a song! My talk was called ‘Building Inclusive, Empowering Communities Online’ and it was an emotional moment as when I ‘stood’ on stage, in front of an audience, with a PowerPoint behind me; I felt like a teacher again 🥹❤️ It felt like my two lives were colliding again and made me realise that, even though my life is different now, I am still the same person.

“but you don’t look in pain” is something i hear a lot and it’s a response that i really hate- especially when it’s coming from medical professionals!!

in the early days, pain was all i knew but after the months turned into years, i learnt how to live as best a life i could despite my pain.
