While we’re editing the video about our trip to Mauritania, let me tell you about one of the most amazing places we've ever seen—the Eye of the Sahara.

The Eye of the Sahara is a gigantic geological formation with a diameter of 50 kilometers, located in the Mauritanian part of the Sahara Desert.

Initially, geologists believed the Eye of the Sahara, also known as the Richat Structure, was a massive impact crater. However, after research conducted in 2014, scientists concluded that such formations are a result of erosion.

In other words, the Earth's crust in this area has been rising and falling, continuously weathering away, which has led to this astonishing layered formation.

The Haj Aligholi salt desert is located southeast of Iranian city Damghan, near the village of Kurzan. Many years ago, most of Iran's lands were flooded and after several million years, drought turned it into a desert, creating Haj Aligholi, which amazes with its vast expanse.
