Laila is a multi-faceted artist with a soulful voice and a wide-ranging repertoire. Born into a musical family she was exposed to classical music at an early age singing opera arias with her father Josif Faerman a classically trained opera baritone and studying classical piano. Laila continued her musical studies with Pamela Kucenic soloist in the Metropolitan Opera and has explored numerous genres from jazz to French chanson, from pop music to folk, performing well-known standards at popular venues such as the Metropolitan Room, Cleopatra’s Needle and at Webster Hall. In 2011 she immersed herself in spiritual teachings of Bengali meditation teacher Sri Chinmoy. She appeared as soloist in Gandharva Loka Orchestra at “Songs of the Soul” concert at NYU Skirball Auditorium and at Duif Kirk in Amsterdam and was invited to tour with “Concerts for Peace” appearing in the prestigious Rudolfinum Dvorak Hall in Prague, Czech Republic, Teatro Regio Torino in Italy and in Bulgaria Hall in Sofia
