Matt Whitman and The Ten Minute Bible Hour
I'm Matt and I'm endlessly curious about the Bible and Christianity and the God those things are about. I was raised around Evangelical Christianity, collected a few degrees about theology and such, pastored churches and then had my faith fall apart. I spent time believing there was no God, but then started over on Christian faith from the beginning, and that's where I am now.
The idea of an infinite God setting out to redeem a busted up but still beautiful world over the long haul is about the most interesting thing I can imagine, and that (at its core) is what all my videos are about. I make explainer videos, do reviews, tour churches, interview people, make deep-dive history and theology stuff and sometimes I post ridiculous sketches. Feel free to enjoy what you resonate with and ignore the rest.
If you're here, it's because your curiosity overlaps with mine, and I'm grateful for that. I'm always glad to cross paths with anyone of good will whether we agree on everything or not.

From time to time I make silly mistakes when I export a video, and today is one of those times. I accidentally muted all the b-roll for today's video that would allow you, the viewer, to see what the heck I'm pointing at and talking about. The whole video looks pretty funny without it.
It won't take me long to re-export that and upload it again. Apologies for the mistake - the video (in it's full and much-more-interesting form) will be back up within the hour.

Matt Whitman and The Ten Minute Bible Hour
I watched Sound of Freedom this week, and I appreciated a lot of things about it. The movie is outperforming all expectations and it's generated quite the buzz on social media. Even though I don't think it was the perfect movie, I've been surprised by some of the negative coverage it's received, and I've been fascinated by the whole phenomenon.
With all that in mind, I've put together a video that I'm publishing today about why (in my opinion) the movie is succeeding.

I ended up with a TON more Bibles to review this year, and I've been putting some serious thought into a helpful matrix for selecting one. I begin the process of sorting out all these Bible's with the new video that comes out in the morning.
That said, my plan for the next couple of weeks (ahead of Christmas gift-giving time) is to review lots of Bibles and then take what I've learned and see if I can match a bunch of these Bible with the right people in my life and give them an edition of the text they'll dive deep into for years to come.
But I've got miles to go before I sleep. So I'm going to quit typing and go work through more Bibles.

Eight years ago today I started working on this YouTube channel. I don't really notice the eight years until I go look at the old stuff.
Wow.
I've learned a ton about the Bible and Christianity through this, and it's been a lot of fun.
That said, it's time for some changes to how my Internet stuff is put together. I'd like to look back at where we've been and talk about where it's going next. I'd be grateful if you'd watch my new video where I break all of that down.
